Adderall?

It's been twelve hours since I took it and I still haven't 'come down'.   Twelve hours is ridiculous.

What can I do? I have to be up early in the morning.

The half life of Adderall is about 10 hours.
This means that every 10 hours, half of the previous amount of Adderall in the body disappears.
For example, if you took 10mg of Adderall at 12AM (midnight), at 10AM 5mg of Adderall will be left in your body. At 8PM, 2.5mg will be left, and so forth until there is 0mg left in your body.
As a rough guide it takes about 5.5 half lives for a drug to be out of your system. For adderall then it would take just over 2 days for a dose to be out of your system.
(5.5 x 10 = 55 hours - which is just over 2 days)

Is this your first dose?
What time did you take it? Can you take. Benadryl?

No. I've been on this medicine for about 17 years. I don't get why I can't 'come down' my dosage used to be 60mg higher than what I'm on now. UGH

Did you take a break from it and come back? That's strange

Just when I was pregnant. I've been back on it for almost three years now. The other day I had a problem coming down too. I wonder if it could be because I had caffeine today?

I have. My son takes it but I have a really low tolerance to it. I'll have trouble getting up and fall back asleep the next day

That could be it- that's multiple stimulants. I don't know that it would make that much difference. Maybe take it very early tommorow. Also talk with your doc- you may need a lower dose

Ugh. I'm already at the lowest I've been since I was six. I'll try cutting out coffee and taking it as soon as I wake up. Thank you!

Maybe you need a med change? I know my sons doc am says its very common to need med changes even in adult hood

What other kind of medicine is out there for ADD? I tried Ritlin when I was five and that was crap and I tried it again a few months ago because of the Adderall shortage and it was still crap for me.

My son has been on metadate and concerta both the extended release. There are a lots of variations. We were on metadate and it was great the shortage ended us on concerta ( 8 more mg than metadate at its smalles dose) turned my son into a mess so we finally for back on metadate and now it's not enough- we are trying sometime off to hope his body will go back to the small dose. It's very strange how this stuff works. ( he is 5)

I got all excited and then I googled and saw that it's Ritilin. Ritlin is like chugging water for me.. nothing happens.
