fluconazole for thrush

I've been taking it for 2 weeks now(tonights dose is my last)& for the past few days my nipples having been itching like crazy. Is this normal? I used Gentian Violet a couple days ago on my nipples & swabbed DS's mouth to re-treat him. Has anyone else experienced this? What can I do to stop the itching?

You shouldn't really be experiencing discomfort. Maybe ckntnue the GV on the nips just to be safe. You don't want that smurf back   maybe they're itchy cause they're healing? Do they still seem like they have yeast? Or just itchy?

They were a little sore when I used the GV on them but they are mainly just really itchy. If they get too bad I'll just go to the er. I hate to do it but I called my OB after my 6 week appointment about getting birth control & since I didn't ask for it at the 6 week appointment he 'can't' write me a prescription

Hmmm. Yeah see if the GV helps a little. If it doesn't seem to work in the next couple days idk. With Fluconazole and GV you really shouldn't have any yeast left. Is LO looking good though? Good call on the preventive dose.

Monday LOs tongue looked a little white so that's when I did another GV swab on him. It didn't look like anything but milk residue but I wanted to make sure. I may not have caught it quick enough though. There aren't any other white spots in his mouth though

I'd do the 3 day GV treatment on you and DS and see If you find relief. If u don't then go back to the dr.
