Leaking amniotic fluid

So I'm pretty sure it's not my water leaking and it's just pee, but its still there in the back of my mind that it COULD be my water. Reason being after urinating a few minutes later my underwear will be damp, and at night when I get up to pee my underwear will be a little damp but throughout the day it's not, only after urinating. I've laid down with a pad on and when I get up nothing gushes out so I guess I'm just being paranoid. Does this sound like just a urine leak or maybe it could be my water? I'm 39 weeks btw

It sounds like it's probably just discharge.

I went to the ER twice during my last pregnancy for the exact same thing!!! It was discharge and urine. You just have no muscle to control your bladder anymore. My undies would literally be soaked to where they could do the amniotic fluid test by squeezing my underwear onto a plastic strip. I wasted to many hours worrying about it. But if you think it smell like ammonia and believ it's really amniotic fluid, just go in and get checked out to ease your mind. This problem started for me around 14 weeks last pregnancy and has already started with this one.

It's probably not. But when I had my daughter at 37 weeks, at first my water broke, and my panties were just a little damp. When I called the nurse, she said it wasn't amniotic fluid, but maybe 15 minutes later, I was in active labor. So I knew that my water broke. If you're not sure, go to the hospital. There is a test they can give you so you will know for sure what's happening to you. Anyway, you are 39 weeks. It's time!
