re: some parents dont vaccinate their kids? O.O (long)

posted 9th Jan
Parents actually have legit reasons for not vaccinating their kids sorry not everybody lives in your world. There are tons of kids who aren't vaccinated for them and their parents own beliefs!

If you don't want your child around that I suggest you keep him in the house forever lol..

True! I actually changed my mind about the circumcision issue right around the time my 3rd son was born. The first time i didn't question it ... second time i did... third time ... it was too late. lol Oh well ... maybe if i have a 4th boy.

I never thought about it until I was pregnant.

My daughter has all her vaccinations but I didn't want her to get that one they get straight after birth (can't remember what it's called now) but I changed my mind last minute and she had it

Vaccinating isn't a requirement not is it a guarantee against whatever you are vaccinating from. It's called herd immunity, most vaccinate but some don't. Get over it. You want to keep your child in a bubble go for it, otherwise get over the fact that some parents choose not to vaccinate. It's life and its a choice so you need to come to terms with that.

I really don't care if people choose to vaccinate or not, but I do wonder sometimes what will become of herd immunity if this trend continues to escalate.

I bet you do. That's not really normal conversation..."so im fully vaccinated are you? " "for sure! "

No that just doesn't happen in normal life.

Ugh. I chose to vaccinate DD1, and will be with DD2. Some people do, some don't. No big deal. I personally wouldn't want to have to deal with an unvaccinated child once they start school. At my daughters school I had to provide them with records showing she was up to date. Not sure how they go about with an unvaccinated child but that's not my problem

Not true, her child could get sick from a disease they were vaccinated against. They obviously aren't 100% If you have done research on vaccines. Her child could get sick from a non vaccinated child but her child could get sick from the vaccine. There's no reason to downplay the risks involved.

My shock wasn't that you didn't know. Its how you approached the subject such as "wtf are they thinking " type comments.
I don't. My kids have never had any of those diseases. And rarely get sick at all. But you do need to remember its a vaccination it doesn't make you immune. You can still contract diseases especially being a carrier once given the shot. We're not all "on the bandwagon" because someone thought vaccines were linked to autism. That didn't have a play in my decision. I did many hours of research before deciding.

Me too. I can understand some people not wanting to do it because of what is in them. And because of that, I think they should be trying to make them safer.

I was late with my daughters 18 month vaccinations. A child got sick with the measles and my daughter had to be sent home for however long because she wasn't vaccinated on time. That was time off work for me and $88 a day in unused childcare.

Do you feed your kids meat and dairy products? Harmful chemicals in those too...
