Not sure what to think...

So I am 29 weeks and 5 days pregnant. I went to the dr last week and they did an u/s and from the two weeks prior they said my "Cervix has shortned" And they sent me to be monitored at L&D where I was having small contractions to me just bh contractions some were strong but not painful. They sent me home. I have to go every week for an ultrasound for them to continue to check me. They gave me the swab test to see if I am at risk for preterm labor it came back negitive. Over the past 2 days I have noticed the baby has dropped. With my first dd she dropped around 33 weeks I think. Sometimes I do have actuall contractions they usually go away within an hour or so. But they said apparently those contractions are doing something, But I was just wondering if anyone else had any of this happen and went to term. Or has any thoughts or opinions
