Can toddlers have OCD?

posted 9th Jan
Can toddlers have Obsessive-compulsive disorder or maybe she is just really particular, lol.

My daughter is now 20 months, and can not stand fuzz on her shirts, strings, hair, anything on her or her things. She will keep saying "ew" "yucky" She can't have crumbs on her cup. The other day she cried because a string was on her shoe in the car and she couldn't reach it.

Her grandmother said that her father was the same way in that he wouldn't use someones bathroom if it was dirty at age 3 and didn't like dirty things. He doesn't have any other issues at 22 Lol. I don't think its a big deal just a bit different.

I think OCD is learned. I have OCD, and both my girls are showing signs of being OCD as well. They are 2 and 4.5

They can but a lot of the time it's normal behavior
My LO has to have all his blocks in a certain order and things have to be lined up right or he gets pissed. He also hates crumbs, food, dirt ect on himself or his toys or anything he sees

Eh, DD would not touch grass at that age. She would fall over outside and hold herself up with her elbows and cry, because she couldn't get up without touching it lol.

She's almost 4 and although she has preferences (ie. being clean over dirty, etc) she's normal and doesn't have OCD.

My personal opinion is no, a child that young cannot have OCD lol

I didnt think it was the disorder but she is so funny with it.
She would not sit in a chair because it had a stain on it and started crying when I put her in the chair(before I saw the stain.)

My son I think is OCD. He is 3 but ever since he was eating solid food at 6 months he would spill and ask for a napkin or paper towel and he would wipe it.

Now he doesnt like food on his shirt, won't use a toilet if it's dirty, and wants his face and hands washed right away.
