Blood Pressure

I have a c-section scheduled for Friday. I am considered high risk and was suppose to have an appointment tomorrow but my doctor told me that there was no point in traveling three hours to my appointment if I was going to be there at 7am on Friday as long as I checked my blood pressure and everything was ok. I had high blood pressure with my pregnancy with my son and had pre eclampsia. I checked my blood pressure just a few minutes ago and it's 154/92. Is that considered high? I was pretty pissed off and upset later tonight because of issues with DF. So my guess is that if it's high that could be the cause? I have had perfect blood pressure this whole pregnancy. Should I call and let my doctor know my blood pressure in the morning or just check it and go by that?

154/92 is high. Do let your doctor know, especially since he asked you to.

I had to check my blood pressure too and my husband had to talk me into telling the midwives (I really didn't want to since I was already in early labour and had a lower blood pressure reading a bit later). I ended up going into the hospital for testing and then later giving birth at the hospital rather then at home as planned. It was for the best, nothing happened but I did have a lot of bleeding during labour and I'm sure they would have wanted to transfer me. I'm glad I got to go to the hospital when I wanted to.

yes your BP is high, Do you have any sypmtoms of pre-e? maybe just call your health provider.

No, I feel great other then the normal aches and pains that goes with late pregnancy.

I was sent in on Monday to be induced for high blood pressure and it was 150/100, I think you need to call, you could stroke out! Best of luck momma!

I was induced for high blood pressure with my son at 36 weeks. I will call him in the morning, I was just so happy with myself that I have made it this far and not ready for them to tell me to come in tomorrow to have the c-section instead of Friday.

When was that pressure taken? Have you retaken it since then (after calming down)? If you've retaken it and it went down into your normal range, I wouldn't worry too much. But if it's still elevated now that your calm, it wouldn't hurt to at least call and let them know your readings.
