i don't want a baby right now
but the thought will not go away

would you mention it to someone you have been dating a year?
i don't know if it would weird him out
he's mentioned kids before, and being together forever

No, it wouldn't be a good idea to mention it to someone you've been dating for such a short time.

Yeah I would say definitely not to only a year of being together.

Sounds like a terrible idea, if it were me I would be running for the hills if someone told me that after a year!

Absolutely not. I don't think I could mention that to anyone ever, regardless of dating/married length. Such a strange thing to converse about and decide on. My son was an accident, heh.

if its really bugging u then i would discuss it w/your SO....just like u posted about it. He will either help u confirm u dont really want another right now or encourage the idea talk u into ttc soon? either way ,its something you both need to discuss

To me. Definitely not strange for everyone who's normal and into the idea of reproducing. Just not my cup of tea. I very much did not ever want a child and was thrilled to be told by two doctors that it was impossible. Turns out they were wrong.

I met my husband on an online game through my mom and he was overseas, we started talking about having kids after only a couple months because we both wanted a baby so badly, we finally met after a year and ttc the night he got into town and got married a week later, after over 2 years and 2 kids we are still going strong. You can talk to your SO about it and get his opinion on it, you never know he may be all for it.

Ya we moved way fast, he actually moved to GA to be with me. I thought it was freaking crazy until it actually happened

I would not, unless there's some sort of understanding or commitment going on.. you know, like the two of you are buying a house together, getting engaged or married, investing in something etc.

Otherwise, I think you should wait.. oh and.. I've been there! Meh, it was a difficult time.
