posted 9th Jan
Hi my name is Sam i'm about 9 weeks pregnant and im having horrible morning sickness I cant keep anything down not even water. This would be my second pregnancy my daughter is 6 yrs so I waited along time. When I found out I was pregers I was super excited and now im just miserable ! The biggest thing that I having is throwing up im always hungry but every time I eat it just comes up. I been to the hospital and they gave me an iv and gave me some meds but I can not afford them until they approve me for my insurance to kick in. I tried everything from crackers to ginger ale to eating small amounts of food. If anyone has any tips to help me feel more better that be great!

If you are getting medicaid, they will cover three months prior.

Try taking sips of water, rather than gulps.

Did your OB prescribe you zofran?

This sound wierd but you can by natural motion sickness tablets such as ginger. Or what about a sea sickness band.
If not contact your doctor.

I'm not pregnant anymore, thank god.

I couldnt take anything. Everything came up. The only thing that made me feel better was an IV with Zofran in it.

Firstly congrats to you :-).
I had the same problem 5 yrs ago with my first pregnancy, it just got worse to the point where I was throwing up for 12-18 hrs a day. I couldnt keep even a sip of water down, I was throwing up blood from ripping my stomach lining, I would get admitted to the hospital every couple of days for fluids and meds, they would send me home 4hrs later and then by the time I got home I was sick again.
I hated being pregnant then and use to get very depressed.
Just a warning for you darl dont leave it to long to get to help, nothing they gave me worked. I should of been hospitalised and ended up loosing my baby at 32 weeks as she had malnutrition. At 32 weeks she was the size of a 26 weeks prem baby. You need help because you will starve your baby, and make sure they take u seriously when you ask for help because they didnt with me they just kept sending me home. I lost 45kgs when I was pregnant if thats any indicator for how sick I was.
I just dont want the same thing to happen to any1 else.
good luck and take care.

Im finally expecting a baby girl after 5 yrs, Im 38 weeks on monday so things are looking good, Im still sick but the hospital is taking extra care of me.

So I been reading every ones post on my topic. I would like to say first that I do not have insurances I applied for Medicaid but they take forever to get back to you so im still waiting. So this means no doctor or I can't get my meds. They give me all these prescriptions but I cant get them there all between 100 to 150 and that's just generics . The Zofran is $100 and I went to walmart for that. I been going to the hospital two or three times a week all they say is ur dehydrated and they put ivs and more prescriptions. There not taking my problem seriously . I'm just so miserable about this whole thing. And the sad thing is I been wanting another kid so bad! I mean I feel so alone with this my first pregnancy went so smooth compare to this one. I just need some advice and go see a doctor doesn't help bec it doesn't help when u don't have insurance and they want you to pay all up front . I tried to go to clinics but they still want you to pay the whole fee up front.

m having the same issues, I have not recieved my insurance card. Zofran ODT 4mg is very inexpensive a Costco, I paid $23 for 20 pills vs Walmart who wanted $120 for 20 pills :O Try Costco- Im not sure if you need to be a member or not to use the pharmacy, but Im sure you can find someone you know with a membership if you dont have one! Good Luck!

My doc also had me try Emetrol since Zofran is not helping, its an OTC liquid for nausea- didnt help me but everyone is different and Ive heard alot of people say it helped them alot!

I had the same problem with all my pregnancies. I lost 20 pounds with my first pregnancy and 50 with my second. My third pregnancy lost 10 pound . Call around to your local pharmacies and find out who sells generic Zofran the cheapest. There is also B-Natal lollipops that help with morning sickness. Try to keep hydrated by eating jello, broth and popsicle. Cold things helped when I was sick. Hard candy helps my stomach. You will have to force yourself to try to eat and drink a little even u feel sick. I am 14 weeks pregnant and still get sick but Zofran is big help.
