Omeprazole/Prilosec

I was prescribed it a while ago. I took it a few times but ended up forgetting too much and I never really had heartburn. My doctor put me on it because I was having pain. I had an upper endoscopy done recently and my doctor increased my dose because the lining of my stomach is pretty damaged.

I started taking it again but I noticed I feel really, really sick. I seriously feel like my stomach is melting. It hurt so bad. I feel like I'm going to puke. My heart is beating pretty fast. I have a horrible headache. My stomach is gurgling. I can't eat, drinking anything hurts. Is this normal? Could it be because of the meds?

I wouldn't say so.

SO will occasionally get pain with his acid reflux, but not terrible pain.

I'm on omeprazole and its never made me sick. I took it when I was pregnant, too. And I'm breastfeeding now. It's my understanding that its a pretty safe drugs. But you never know, your body might have a weird reaction to it

I'm not on it for reflux or anything like that. I never even had pains like this until the did my last upper. Then I took these pills for the last 4 days. I woke up today feeling like I was going to die. Work was horrible. It was so hard to stand or talk to anyone. I almost passed out a few times. The funny part, I work in a pharmacy. I was going to ask our pharmacist but we were so busy all day. I feel ok laying down. Idk if I should go to the hospital. I still feel so dizzy and weak and sick.

I think its just a coincidence and the pain is from something else. JMO.

It says that it can cause an upset stomach but this is so much worse than that.

What are you on it for if not reflux?

Because my stomach is smurfed up. I have a lot of irritation from what they saw on the upper.

I was just curious what else it could treat, sorry if I was being nosey. I'm on it for my reflux but I feel like it only works like half the time. It was awesome before I gained a bunch of weight, but now my reflux is so terrible no matter what I do
