Flu Vax

posted 9th Jan
Post and run. I was just watching the news and 22 people have died from the flu already this year, that's 11 more than last year. A mom of a boy who died recently said she never vax'd before but will now. Does this change your opinion on the flue vaccinations? Why or why not? I am curious because I have severe reactions to the vaccine and do not get them and do not get them done for my DS either. So now I am all worried.

Nope, I have always vaccinated my kiddos. Just my personal preference.

I vax both my of my kids. I mean there's thousands of different strands of the flu virus that the vaccination doesn't protect against, but i still vax them for added protection and comfort.

Nope, I still won't vax for the flu. People die from smurf all the time that they are vaxed for and arent vaxed for....it happens...doesn't change my mind. Maybe if the number was up in the thousands....but 11 out of the entire united states is an extremely small number, don't more people die from coconuts falling on their heads a year?.....

No, it is my belief that the flu has mutated by this time of year past the protection point of the vaccine.

I consider it when I have a small infant in my house, but not for bigger healthy people with established immune systems

Nope, I think the vaccine is actually making the flu worse. When a virus is prevented from attacking its host, it mutates. If everyone keeps vaccinating themselves, the virus will just keep constantly mutating into something possibly even more deadly. I think building up your immune system to better fight off the viruses we have now causing the flu is a better way to deal with the flu.

I'm 28 and I can't ever remember the flu being a big problem until the last decade or so when the flu vaccine came out. I could be wrong on that though.

dd's pedi even admitted to us that the vax this year is pretty much worthless against the types going around. we don't plan on getting it.

The flu kills those that are vulnerable and typically not those with a good immune system.
My 4 y/o probably has it now but is doing fine. My neighbors frail, elderly dad has it and will probably die.
I may get it because i dont want the inconvenience of it.
As per the reports i have heard, it gives you a 50/50 chance of the virus passing you by. AND, if you do end up getting it, it will be less severe.
If i were you and had a history of reactions, i wouldnt get it nor would i get my child vaxed for flu.
