Exactly, that's pretty much standard policy EVERYWHERE. I always got knocks before ANYONE entered my room, even the doctors.

The doctors should be charting it every time they visit you, so the other doctors don't have to bother you about the same things. They must not be doing their charting, or the other docs aren't reading it. Or they have a bad system where you are.

Here they all go in at the same time and "make rounds" together.

In everyday to make sure I have no complaints and she takes care of it immediately. Do u get someone like that? I'd request they knock. That's very rude.

Oh ok. Yeah I have some do this and some who wait a second. It's kind of hit or miss. I was snuggling SO last night and I was afraid someone would walk in and thjnk we were doing naughty stuff haha. I would have been so embarrassed.

Lmao that's one thing I don't care about. He came here and slept in bed with me last night. The nurse came in a few times and so did 2 doctors. I didn't give a smurf. It's not even the fact that like I'm doing something necessarily embarrassing when they do it, it's the principle of it.
And when I'm doing something intimate like crying.
And no I don't have anyone that comes around like a manager. I'm about to make a sign and put it on my door.

I just finally was able to finish reading this. You are a very strong women! I think I would of had a break down. I hope baby keeps on baking!

Oh sweets, I'm sorry --- that is crap & you have every right to feel that way. It is truly dehumanizing to be in that position. You feel like a lab rat or a number instead of a person. I know you understand why they have to do certain things and such... but it doesn't make it easier to swallow & I'm sure not everyone is as careful about your feelings as they should be.

A lot of times, hospitals (especially neo-natal care or maternity units) will have a social worker-type person or counselor that you can talk to in order to keep your sanity. You can relay all of your concerns to that person & he/she can help you come up with a plan to make proper changes for this to be more comfortable for you.

Yup, a social worker comes here twice a week.

I will ask about a social worker. Nobody has even offered that to me though. Not to mention the NICU doctors STILL have not come down to talk to me.

Omg wtf is their problem   the first day I was there I had a social worker and a nicu dr come talk to me. I'd be pissed. You need to demand.

I have a social worker that comes twice a week, a manager comes once a day, a dietician comes once a week, a chaplain comes once a week, a nicu staff comes when I ask as well as a LC.

I have asked countless people I even had a nurse use my phone to call up to NICU right in front of me and ask about a doctor coming and talking to me, telling them I've been here for a week and have asked multiple times and still haven't had anyone come down. I actually saw it in their computer that it had been ordered for me. The NICU docs are slacking.
