That's good they stopped the labor. Did they say anything about what happens next?

Welll it wasn't actually supposed to stop the labor. I'm kind of frustrated because I went through 2 nights of extremely painful contractions like 1-3 minutes apart and they wouldn't give me anything to help because I wasn't dilating so finally when I got to a 3 I was ready for the epidural and just ready to be done. That's when they started the magnesium and then I just made it to a 4 before everything stopped.

So now I have to go through that allllll over again!

The plan of action is basically just to wait and see what happens. They're not going to try to prevent anything but they're not going to encourage it either.

They use to use mag to stop labor. In fact some hospitals still do. It's the most effective drug at doing it, but it has the most side effects if you use it long term. They normally use it as a last ditch effort to buy enough time to get the steroid shots done and to prevent brain bleeds.

You must be so tired though. In preemie terms, buying the baby 3 weeks is a huge accomplishment. For me, getting past 3cm's is always the hardest. It goes pretty quickly from there. Hopefully when everything starts back up, it will be fast. Wishing for a speedy delivery when contractions start back up. Good luck!

I'm glad it got stopped for you, sorry about the frusteration though, that's tough   I hope he stays in till the perfect week for his development and that you get an easy labour next time!

Yeah I know they used to use it to stop labor, that's why I think that's what stopped it. I was in full blown labor.
Anyway, my uterus is so sore right now every time I have a little conraction it kills. I really just want it to stop or get over with, but as soon as I start prgressing again they're going to put me back on magnesium

No they want it to be in the baby when they're born, so as soon as I go back into labor they will start it again because usually labor this early on goes fast.
My poor uterus is so sore   Every time I move it kills, every time Creedence move it kills.

Do they know how sore you are? Remember the weird pain i was talking about? It might be a good idea to keep an eye on that.

Oh hon, I'm sorry you're in so much pain -- that truly sucks balls! But I'm glad to know that Creedence is safe & doing well. I know that every minute he's in there is better for him, so I hope the pain eases up soon and you get through a couple more weeks before he makes his arrival! Will say a prayer for you every day, darlin'!
