Nausea

posted 9th Jan
Does anyone have any suggestions of things that help ease nausea and sickness? I've lost 5 pounds from not being able to eat anything, and eating and then just throwing it back up. My ob/gyn put me on Zofran, but I ran out just yesterday, and can't get another prescription until I go back. So, if there's anything that may have helped you, that could help me, let me know? Thanks.<3

I tried that the other day, the peppermint actually just put this taste in my mouth that tasted a little like acid, and made it worse. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Club soda? What is that? I've never heard of it.

It's basically seltzer water, or unflavored soda. You can find it in the soda isle.

You can try ginger beer (NOT ginger ale, but ginger beer....found inthe soda isle by the root beers and stuff.

Honestly though my morning sickness was so bad this pregnancy that the ONLY thing that helped was the zofran.

Hope you get some relief!

Yeah, that seems to be the only thing that helps me too. I've even tried just water, and that came up too. I've tried taking Dramamine, but it doesn't work.

- eat something before you get out of bed (like a cracker or so)
- ginger beer or tea, or honestly anything with ginger in it
- eat small portions throughout the day instead of big meals
- smoothies

Tea has actually helped me throughout today.

Going through the same thing with you. I get sick if i haven't eaten in awhile or if i haven't eaten enough or too much. I have tried Sprite, saltines (i go through a bag a day), peppermint (which helps but again does cure).

It seems that the only thing i dont get sick on is fresh pineapple. Weird i know but DF cut me up pineapple 2days in a row and was the only thing i was able to keep down.

Im going to try making smoothies, and seeing if that helps. Gotta try to get some kind of calories in.

Luckily, I actually found something! Gatorade! I didn't think it would work.. But, my baby's father INSISTED that I drink some Gatorade, and that it would make me feel better. And what do you know? It did.

I was in the same boat. They almost hospitalized me b/c I was dehydrated and my body was basically in starvation mode. They gave me the zofran as a last resort kind of thing, and thankfully it worked well enough to keep me out of the hospital.
