PLEASE help..! question.

posted 9th Jan
I'm a single mom with no family around to help, the father is a loser who isn't helping, & I'm alone. I work @ a restaurant with a difficult schedule but they do try to accommodate my needs as much as possible. I literally have nobody. the father does pay child support but I'm in need of resources. I'm having difficulties with babysitting. it's really overwhelming at this point. & no, I do not have friends that I trust enough to help me watch my son while I'm at work so that's not an option. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.

Open an in-home daycare. Seems like the only option you have left.

Can you move closer to family, or find a different job with a fixed schedule?

She would need schooling (well not need it, but so many people are opening in home day cares, most people I know will only send their child to one who has some type of certification) and will need to have DCYF checks done if she wants to have more than 3 kids.

I mean I guess she could be a babysitter and just bring her son but I don't think opening a legit home daycare is just that easy...

I know it isn't lol. But it seems to me if she doesn't have friends that she trusts enough then I can only wonder how she can trust complete strangers to watch her kid. I don't know..just a suggestion. If she goes through everything she could probably make decent money and be able to spend time with her kid.

you could always go to the newspaper or craigs list and find someone who does do in home day care, they are generally way more flexible than any facility. I have done in home day care before and i was always flexible as long as the parent let me know their schedule for the week. They are also a lot cheaper...most of the time. Of course you would need to check them out previous to taking your child there but its a great resolution. churches also have good resources if you are okay with looking into something like that.

I worked at my school's gain office and they offer a program through calworks (county) who pays for child care, transportation and anything you need for school/work. You have to qualify for it by income and have at least 6 units or work a certain amount of hours. PM if you need more info

Go to cal works and depending on income they help with day care. They helped me with my kids and daycare.
