I agree with the previous post. Let them now politely (it's part of your way of living it's not rude) then offer to bring something. If I invited a couple over and they told me that before hand it would not bother me at all. I would be much more put out if they came to dinner and then just sat there while we ate. lol.

if i invited someone over to my house for dinner and didn't know they were vegetarian until they were sitting there NOT eating what i made because it wasn't vegetarian, i'd feel bad. i wouldn't feel bad at all about making a vegetarian dinner for people i invited to my home though
