Electric Problem

Okay. So this has been going on since friggin' October. The electric in the house I'm renting is all messed up. There's 7 rooms in total, the hallway, then the front and back porch. The ceiling lights work in only 1 of the rooms, the front porch and sometimes the back will come on. In every other room in the house... the ceiling lights and the fans... nothing. The outlets work, but that's it.

The bathroom has never been wired right since I moved in, the landlord had a lamp set up so just use it. So I still have that. Then a few months into moving in one of the bedrooms had it's leaking issue continue plus the lights stopped working in there. This was about a year ago and has never been fixed, on either issue.

Then, back at the end of October, things just went to hell in the rest of the house. It started out with everything going out at random in just our bedroom... then it became more frequent... and spread to other rooms. It started out randomly happening, to frequently, to they would just go off and stay off.

I've had my landlord come out time and time again. He basically just gets them to come back on then leaves. Not actually fixing the problem though... he'll tinker with it, they'll come on, he'll take off... and give it an hour or two and they'll start flickering again and then go completely out all in the same day all over again.

I don't want to call him or have to have him over here constantly but I also don't want this to be an issue. I don't exactly like living in the dark. I don't have any lamps, just the one in the bathroom, and the one room that still works. So the rest of my large house is just in the dark... street lights, tv, leaving the fridge door open is how you see to get around or whatever.

And sometimes he doesn't even want to come in, says he can't for x amount of time or whatever. So now it's been literally like 3 weeks in a row. My electric has been like this. They've flickered on one time during it, at complete random, and was on for maybe 30 minutes. And that's it. I'm so annoyed. Gah.

I wish I could just up and move.

sounds like there are a bunch of loose wires so there isn't a good connection.

That's what m fiance keeps telling him, he went out there and looked at it and was like that whole thing is a mess... and he even offered to do it, you know work with him with instead of give you a check for rent that money will go into doing this and that for the house... but he's like nah, it's fine.

Like hell... Grr.

Thanks, I will look more into that information and see if I can't get something going with this situation. This is getting pretty ridiculous. Have a copy of my renters agreement handy as it is as we were looking through it on what exact it states in regard to such the other day.
