Game Meat.

Is it safe to eat wild game during pregnancy?
One of the guys DH works with brought us some fresh rabbit and I'm so excited to tear into it

I would think it is just like any other meat. As long as it is well cooked you should be fine

I would assume so. I ate game meat my entire pregnancies with both except when in the hospital and had no problems. Just cook it well

It's not like mercury or anything. That's the problem with some
Game fish.

As long as you know it doesn't have a disease it's fine. I've ate goose and suck this preg as well as deer. All locally hunted killed and at home cleaned and processed.

I ate it with each pregnancy. Just make sure it's well cooked and I can't see why it'd be a problem at all.

Exactly how we intend to eat it. Deep fried in used oil. We've been craving all kinds of game for a while but neither one of us is permitted to go hunting. The same guy is going to be bringing us skins too which I plan to use for a playmat for the baby

Yes! It's better than store bought hormone filled meat products.

God that all sounds heavenly. I miss having locally hunted and trapped game in my freezer.

Lmao!!! SO just started hunting and hasn't got anything yet. So our fridss invite us when they get a good amount over for dinner. We had goose fajitas not too long ago. We only have a pig right now that we got from
Our friends dads farm. That's always nice even if it's not gamey. I like the gamey taste of meat but some people can't handle it. I'm not a meat snob haha. I'll eat it all!!!

I'm not sure about Rabbit but my fiance's sister ate venison the whole time she was pregnant and my dad's goddaughter ate it too and they and their babies were fine. Like a previous poster said as long as it isn't diseased and the liver looks fine I don't see why eating it wouldn't be safe as long as its cooked all the way.
