premature bby not opening her bowels

Hi i was wondering if anyone has been through this with their premature babies ,last time she had her bowels open was on 3rd of january. i can see she is trying because on her nappies is a bit of a stain but nothing else.i am a bit worried ,a couple of days ago i asked the doctors and they are not concerned what so ever about it.she is only on breast milk , folic acid , dalivit and ferrus .is there anything i could do to help her?i massaged her tummy already.she is now 36+3

It's normal for breastfed babies to go as long as 10 days without a bowel movement. I wouldn't worry as long as she's still having 8-10 wet diapers daily.

Babies can go a week or so without pooping, and it's not a concern. If she's trying and can't manage it, though, she may be constipated? Ask your midwife or health visitor for some advice.

My son would go up to a week or more when he was a newborn and exclusively breastfed. It's normal. There's no reason to get concerned unless several days pass where she is clearly uncomfortable. Even then it will probably clear itself up.

the thing that helped us when we ran into it was a tea spoon of prune juice
