FINANCIAL AID. Help?

My school has 3 terms per year. Fall, Spring, and summer. I checked my award and I *think* I'm only getting money for fall and spring. Why didn't they estimate summer term in? Has anybody else experienced this? I was told once that they'll estimate it if I choose to go during the summer since most students don't. But it looks like my award will be used up.

I'm also confused because I believe I accepted around 9k award (Pell grant and then something else, I think it was a loan but I'm not sure *sigh*) last summer before I started school and now that I look at my account, it says my award (pell grant only now) is $5,550. $2,775 per term. Why did it change?

So confused. Any help would be appreciated.

At my college it gets added in if you chose to go in the summer.

Thats what I was told. So I figured as much. Do I talk to my counselor and let her know that I am going to attend this summer, call financial aid or do I just sign up for classes and they'll (school and financial aid) take care of the rest?

All I have to do is sign up for classes.

I know my cousin can't get Financial Aid for summer classes, however I can (we go to different schools)

That is so weird. Maybe because he didn't get awarded enough? Idk. I should have enough for full time ALL year. So I'm confused. I will probably go to my counselor anyway and see what she says. It just takes time that I do not have.

Regardless of how it is being split up, you're still getting your 5500. Instead of 3 payments, they made it 2.  

I know at the school I went to you have to apply for summer separate from fall and spring.

They still gave you the full amount. It's just up to you to split it enough so you have money left for summer.

My university doesn't accept financial aid for more than 2 semesters. If you don't go either Fall or Spring, they will pay for summer. But, if you go both semesters, you have to have a private loan for summer. I also on get 2,500 from Pell Grants per semester and 5,000 a year. I really wished they covered summer though, because my interest on private loans is 9% and it's really adding up fast.

For my school, in the summer, it didn't tell me what I was getting till after I signed up for classes. It was nerve-wracking. But I got the full amount, as well as the full amount for the other two seasons.
