People's "advice" and opinions.

Do you ever feel like people give really bad medical advice or shove their opinions at you that barely know you?(in real life).
I've had a girl who was friends with me in college already tell me I'm going to mutilate and mentally scar my child for life if I circumcise him. (We don't even know what the baby is yet.) and I should be ashamed.
Another person has contacted me telling me something is probably wrong if I haven't felt the baby move by 12 weeks. I KNOW that's very false. She has kids already, where does she get her knowledge? She is currently 13 weeks and says baby kicks her other child's hand when she puts it on her belly...
If I want your crazy opinions, I will ask. SIL included... ;)

Wow lol, people can be so ignorant. I wouldn't even pay mind to their so-called "advice".  

Well the Circumcision thing I can understand as people have strong opinions and evidence against it but the person trying to tell you she can feel her baby move and other people can feel her baby move at 12 weeks is effin' crazy  

That's why my medical advice comes from my doctor.

Lol @ 13 weeks I'd assume baby's foot is only like a centimeter or two long so that's just ridiculous.. not to mention you can't even feel kicks from the inside yet only flutters. Some people are stupid!

Movement at 12 weeks? Lol, what have they been smoking? That's rare even with subsequent pregnancies. Your friend is an idiot, lol. Sometimes you just have to let stuff go in one ear and out the other.

The circumcision harassment started when i was 6 weeks and DH and I recently had to defriend her. Calm down, lady! We don't even know what it is! She sent me messages with crazy pictures and stories and how I could be a murderer if anything went wrong. Whoa whoa. Haha

People have this bad habit of opening their mouths when no one's interested, you know? My SIL told me to pig out on whatever the hell I wanted when I was pregnant. Glad I didn't listen to her, the baby weight's been tough enough to start working off.

I get told how to dress my 17 month old DD, that she's not warm enough (bull, she lets you know when she's cold), that she's not eating enough (she eats like a horse all day long, sorry she doesn't pork out on crap food)...

A lot of anti-circumcision people will tell you that you're going to scar your baby for life and what not. It's a personal choice, and you do not deserve to get trashed for it. And yes, it is YOUR choice, you are the parent. You get to make these decisions. As for feeling the baby at 12 weeks, after the first pregnancy it's more likely, but for a first pregnancy it's much more difficult. It's more gas bubbles at that point of time.

Just hang in there, smile, nod, and let it go in one ear and out the other.

That's so uncalled for. It is a hot topic, but I think people are just obnoxious with it.

My children seem to have no mental or emotional problems with their foreskin being removed.

People as "slow" when it comes to some advice, some can get pretty ridiculous. Just ignore them.

I lol'd at OP. I hate that. I don't interact with people. <-- Only reason I've avoid this. My mom though told me once to sleep on my back because one of my sides had an artery that could be blocked... I was like "mah no shut up" Last night I had a dream about crap like this where I snapped at a lady saying something along the lines "Take that poor baby out of the stroller and just carry her" as I was trying to walk into a baby clothes store. I replied with "There's nothing poor about this baby go fly a kite" (<= my language in the dream was a bit more harsh) I try to avoid people all together. And I don't think someone would feel a baby kick around 13 weeks on the outside even with the very slim chances she's actually feel baby and not gas.

SO's son is 3 and around a year and a half after the circumcision they discovered it wasn't complete and he had to basically get it done all over again, at 1 and a half or 2, and he's 4 now and is not scarred for life... That's BS.

I give plenty of advice... but I'm either 100% correct or I don't say smurf. Sometimes I even look it up to make sure what I know is actual fact rather than just say it because I think I'm right.

I know! I laughed. My sister also said I was definitely carrying a girl because of how low I was. I was like that's the opposite of the old wives tale. But thanks for trying. I have to sleep on my back for about 30-45 minutes before I'm comfortable enough to roll to my sides (I've got ribs out lol) But either way my mom knows nothing about pregnancy anymore I was her last 20 years ago. And she apparently doesn't know that things have changed. Or she's just not bright. Either way. lol. Bad advice is amusing if you look at it the right way.
