Chicago!

posted 9th Jan
DH and I are talking about going to Chicago this weekend. I have the whole weekend off, which is a rarity, and it's his last weekend before classes start again. We have a membership to Shedd Aquarium, so we're going there, but where else should we go? I'm leaning towards the Chicago Children's Museum. Anyone ever been there? Thoughts?

It's supposed to be in the 50's this weekend.

lol. I'm always down for the zoo, no matter what temp! I could go for some cold weather though. I'm dying in the 80's at the beginning of January :/

My best friend couldn't stop raving about the Children's Museum! But it is supposed to be really nice out so maybe try to do something outside as well.

I guess I didn't realize zoos were open in winter. Ours closes from October to April.

I hate the cold. I'm always cold, even in my heated apartment.

It's a nice suggestion, but I can't handle the cold.

Sears tower.
Take the time for a real deep dish Chicago pizza. They are so much better fresh from the oven.
The children's museum is in navy pier & has lots to do inside.
Museum of science & industry is free this week & part of next.

Lots of stuff to do. & check groupon & living social. If you are going to do a bunch of stuff look into getting a city pass

We actually got a *real* deep dish pizza last time we were in Chi-town. That was a first for me! We've gone to the Sears Tower before, but after spending $40 to go up and $20 on parking, we couldn't see anything. I didn't realize the Museum of Science and Industry was free this week. I'll have to look into that. Thanks!

Aah, it's only free for IL residents. Boo.

That sucks. I forgot about that. I literally live in the border so I'm more of an Illiana resident than one or the other. My side of the sreet is IL & the other is IN.

Look into a city pass. I think it's a flat rate & you get the choice of different things to do.

I like the Field Museum and the American Girl Place. lol.   It's also cool to go up the John Hancock building (better view than Sears tower). I LOVE Chicago and I'm very jealous of you.
