I can't have much sympathy for it because I've been hurt. And knowing that pain, and knowing that she seemingly doesn't care about that really upsets me

Oh, I'm not trying to coddle her in this. I'm just saying...sometimes you have to put on your big girl panties, own up to how wrong you are, stop justifying it, and move on with your life. In this thread, you said you'd been sleeping with your married friend on and off for two years. But in the Secrets thread that you posted in October, the night before was the first time you slept together. You also claimed in this thread to be drunk the first time you slept with him, but said you weren't drunk in the Secrets thread. So which is it? TBH, it almost sounds like the whole affair with him was a part of the lie. Like, you slept with him once and things fizzled out but you continued it in your head and that's why you freaked when someone mentioned contacting him. You don't have to answer me, but you need to be honest with yourself if that's the case.

But I have to say.. I lived in Kuwait for 4 years. Not a lot of people there care about their pets (muslims there in general do not really care for dogs specifically, which is why I had to LOL for real at the OP). There are like, two (legit) veterinary clinics in the whole country.

Im not blinded by remorse... I just feel for people who feel like they have to make up a life, especially when its a dream life, like they are escaping themselves. And i always feel bad for people who hate themselves.

I know how it is to hate oneself, and it sucks, and i just dont wish that kind of loneliness on anyone.

I don't know you, Mary, but you seem to have a pretty happy life. So idk if you've ever been in a smurfed up relationship. Generally when we put ourselves in those kinds of situations, it's because we have other really intense stuff brewing under the surface. The relationship with the guy, whether she's actually sleeping with him or not, is just kind of the frosting, kwim? Like HE doesn't even matter so much, compared to all the totally other screwed up things going on in her head. And that says a lot, because the situation with him is totally smurfed. OP, I think you need to get in with a good therapist and probably also a psychiatrist and start some serious work. Idk if you're a sociopath or just desperately sad, but either way you can get to a better place than where you are now.
