My dog is never more than two feet away from me. Hell, the dude got to ride in the passenger cabin of the plane. I'm sure he's happier this way than being stuck outside.
Hell, I know he is. His PTSD symptoms return when he is outside by himself.

So if a dog chews everything and goes in the house while unattended when your at work what are you suppose to do with them? You throw their ass outside because if you keep a dog in a cage everyone assumes you abuse your dog. animals belong outside, coming in should be considered a treat.

No, you take the damn time to train your dog. If your spawn is tearing up your house, do you stick them outside? No, you train them.

I have nothing against creates, but I will only own protection dogs and that doesn't work with crates. Wrangler has PTSD after Afghanistan, so he would probably kill himself if I put him in a crate. He's been by my side 24/7 for the past five years.

It depends on the laws, but I also think it depends on the dog. My Chow/Lab mix would stay outside for hours in the snow, I'd have to fight for him to come inside. He just really enjoyed playing in the snow. We'd bring him in, dry him off, and not even 10 minutes later he'd paw at the back door to go out.
My in-laws live on 50 acres and have 5 dogs. 2 Labs, 2 Schnauzers, and I'm not sure what the other one is, but she's very small. The 2 Labs are always outside and I feel horrible for them, mainly because the mail has arthritis and can barely walk. They keep food and water out for them, and they can go in the shop, but I still feel bad because the shop is open so the temperature isn't controlled.
On the other hand my BIL and SIL have a Pit that is an outside dog, but my SIL made my BIL build a large dog house for him and she keeps heated blankets in there for him. My BIL wanted him outside so my SIL made those the conditions.

You get them a house to go in outside, a bed to keep them warm outside, or train them. I feel bad for your animals if you have any.

Why? My animals are loved, they have shelter, they have food and water. My dog is not an accessory. It is an ANIMAL. It is in the house way more than I would like because my daughter is attached.

My dog is trained, it was an example.

your dog has special needs that you are kind enough to help with
I am assuming these dogs the OP talks about are not like that
I am starting to miss working with my fur monsters now

That's good at least.
Just why get a dog if you're going to stick it in the freezing cold or hot weather it's whole life?

Some people need dogs for farming, others want it to be part of the family but maybe one has an allergy to it so it has to stay outside. Others dogs no matter how hard you try can not be trained.
