Excessive sleeping... normal or not?
posted 9th Jan
My daughter just turned a month old today. And I've noticed she's been sleeping non-stop since about 4:30PM the previous day to about 1:15AM this morning. She just woke up. Drank about an ounce of formula & drifted back to sleep. Is this normal for a newborn or should I be waking her up? Could it just be a growth spurt or something? I don't remember too much of my son's sleeping schedule when he was a newborn... so I feel I'm new to all this once again!

If she is gaining fine let her sleep. They sleep about 20 hours a day at that stage.

I was always told that they will wake up and tell you when they're hungry. You can always call the Dr. and ask they would know for sure!

Sounds reasonable to me! Too bad the hours weren't a little bit different for your convenience!
