Looking for some insight!

Hi ladies!

Well for starters, I am 37 weeks pregnant as of today and have a doctors appointment at 9:30 in the morning but this is my first pregnancy and have some concerns I would like to voice on here. Quick backstory: When I was 34 weeks pregnant and 3 days, I was advised to come into L&D for contractions every 4-5 minutes lasting about a minute to a minute and a half. I went to the hospital and was monitored for several hours, urine was clean but I was informed I had high blood pressure and was severely dehydrated then was sent home. Now lets fast forward a bit! Ever since then and likely even before, I've been having severely excruciating headaches, pains in my right ribcage that are just as awfull, I've been very lethargic, also "spotty" vision I guess you could call it and swelling in the face and ankles. So, being the FTM paranoid freak that I am, I decided to google each of the symptoms above and several results suggested pre-exlampsia. I know you ladies aren't my OB but I was just wondering if you'd be so kind to share any sorts of input on the subject from personal experience. Thank you in advance!!

I was lucky I never got any of the sympotoms my bp was 164/108 when I delivered and the only thing I ever noticed is my face felt like it was on fire and my cheeks would get really red like I had been playing out in the snow for a couple hours. I use to put a cool face cloth on my face and lay down.

Lol, perfect analogy to describe the swelling in the face!! My face/ankles/hands are like fire engine-red, it's ridiculous. Funny thing is, I've been so so meticulous with my sodium intake this entire pregnancy and am always off my feet so I'm not sure exactly why I'm so swollen. I think I'll take your route and hold a cool cloth on my face.

The swelling in those areas are common with pre-e and usually mean that you should contact your doctor asp but for the towel on your face keep a bucket of cold water by you because in a few minuets the rag is going to be hot and will need to be cooled down again.

Is it still possible to acquire pre-e, even when my urine is clean? I will be seeing my doctor first thing in the morning, just didn't want to seem like I was overreacting by voicing these concerns to him because I was unsure if whether they are significant or not. As for your advice regarding the swelling, I will definitely do so!! The cloth already feels great on the swelling, thank you!!

your welcome it was my little peice of heaven. I never spilled protien in my urine but they still labeled me as having pre-e I am not sure if that is how all doctors due it or just my office. They may want to have you do a twenty-four hour urine tests.

Ah, I see. Yeah, I read that women with pre-e are more likely to be induced which is a terrifying thought to me considering I still have 3 weeks to go.

If it gets to bad yes but most of the time if it gets bad enough your body will kick into gear and start labor
