What're MACAROONS?

i've never had one, but they look so cute.
what are they exactly?
i've also never had a cannoli or a twinkie, and they kinda look like they fit in that 'cookie/cake with cream filling' category.

are all those colors just colors, or flavors?

I love cannoli, but it's more like a weird cheesecake to me than anything else.

Macaroons I've had are coconut and they're light and fluffy egg white cookies.. Kind of like crispy angel food cake with coconut

Lol the picture wasn't showing up before. Those are macarons (not macaroons) they're a french pastry.

They're soooo good. I had them when I was in France.
