Just a question about adoption

Do you have to have the baby's fathers permission to give your baby up for adoption? I would imagine you do but you don't for an abortion so I'm unsure.

Yes. If not later on he can come back and fight for custody and take them from the adoptive parents.

I'm pretty sure you do. I have heard of cases where the father, unconsulted, would fight the adoptive family for custody.

I saw on an adoption show that if the mom does not know the father they put the info on some registry and the father has a specific amount of time to claim to be the dad before the adoption is official. I am sure the exact laws are different in every state.

Abortion is totally different... It's considered a woman's choice but it's still a baby. Fetus means small baby.

In my head, it's a baby. But yes, I do see the difference in why you have to inform a father of one and not the other.
