Goodbye Letters

posted 8th Jan
After my FIL passed last year, I decided that I was going to write a will and anything I needed to in case I passed away. Not like I have anything that's worth anything to really give to anyone, but I mean like who would get the kids if DH and I were to both pass away at the same time before they grew to be adults...things like that...Well, I was so delayed in doing it that it wasn't until this year I finally got around to it. I can officially say I'm done writing my "good bye" letters. DH asked me if everything was okay...I had to reassure him that, no...I will not be committing suicide. But, in a way, it made me really depressed to write these letters. Have you ever thought about writing letters to your loved ones in case something happens to you?

Nah. I tend to live in the moment and I'm very comfortable with death so I don't dwell on it at all.

Nope I tell my loves ones how I feel about them regularly. They won't need a letter from me.

The thing that inspired me is actually Princess Diaries when I was little. I just know if either of my parents had passed when I was little, it would be nice to have a letter from them to go back and look, like a treasure in a way?

I give my boys cards frequently with little love letters from mommy in it. Every book I give them has a personal message written in it. Maybe if I didn't do those things Id feel more compelled its kinda depressing to writing letters to have given to them when I die when I can do the same thing with a happier tone now.

Hmmmm...that's a good point. Maybe I should toss the letters...I mean, it's not like they were depressing or anything. But just the thought of death is sad...

How about rewrite them for here and now and send them. I'm sure your loved ones would appreciate it. Heck my parents I see a few times a week and we still randomly send each other cards. It's nice to get real mail not just junk and bills
