I am so sick of this dog.

NOT THAT I'D DO IT... but I totally want to dropkick this dog. Babysitting my mom's insane cocker spaniel. Uuugh.

Dumb as a rock, has never been taught a single command except "get" and "sit" (but you need to repeat it 500 times and continually tell him), stubborn and bad-mannered, cries like a bitch when the big dogs try to play with him, snaps at the puppies, snaps and growls at the kids. He's been here 2 days and he's turned our normally peaceful house into a warzone.

Keeping kids in this room (he can't be unsupervised with them, he snaps and tries to dominate them and it scares them), keeping the cats in that room, keeping big dogs in another room, keeping puppies away from him, keeping him out of the food, keeping him near enough to us that he doesn't cry from loneliness, keeping him out of the kitchen because he's too dumb to get out from under our feet (then acts like you've shot him or something when someone steps on him) and too badly behaved to be in there anyway because he begs, jumps, whines for food.

Can't crate him, my mom never did it with him (we don't either, but we were desperate), and when we tried he cried/howled for 4 straight hours. No garage, can't put him outside because it hasn't been above freezing in a week. Can't keep him in a bedroom or something because he'll cry, and the house is so small you hear it anywhere you are. Can't have him without supervision because he'll piss on and/or destroy any furniture or belongings.

I have too much on my hands for this smurf! Only 3 more days though, then he is GONE and never coming back again.

Since having kids, I went from being an animal person to NOT AT ALLLLLL. I do not want pets, like ever. Ugh. I got a dog, gave it a new home, thought a cat would be better, thing smurfing annoyed the hell out of me and I ended up being allergic and a friend took her for me.

Yeah tell me about it. She's had them my entire life and every darn one of them has been dumb, stubborn, snappy, or any combination thereof.

They don't deserve to be taken out of the kill shelters and found a better home? Ya totally sounds right.

they went from a horrible shelter to me for a few months, to a friend forever. That's not "bouncing around". I found them a forever home way faster than the kill shelter ever did.

I feel this way about our dog. My SIL found a couple dogs running around, so we took one. It's min pin and wiener dog. The thing must have been abused, because if you come near it, or hell even TALK in its direction, it starts cowering and pissing everywhere. We try to give it love and affection, but he just pees, or chews smurf up. I hate the thing and want it gone. I thought I was a pet person, but I guess not.

I don't think that makes you not a pet person. It makes you a sane person with a normal - maybe above normal - tolerance level for bullsmurf.

I'm an animal lover to the nth degree (seriously, my kids' friends have been known to call our house the zoo house) and I would not be happy about that. I understand the need for permanent placement of animals like that, but I personally couldn't deal with it. I'm three days into a dog that's not even that bad and if he were my only current experience with dogs I'd probably never want one again.
