Contractions

i have been having bh contractions off and on all day. i am 32 weeks 3 days. this is my first baby and i dont really wanna seem like a crazy person runnin to l&d every time i have a contraction, but im wondering if i should go now, they are pretty painful and im feelin alot of it in my lower back, is this still bh or could it be realy labor? im currently waiting on my husband cuz i think we are gonna go get checked out anyways, but im not sure what to expect.

Are u timing them?

yea i was till they slowed down a little but they seem to be gettin closer together again, i heared that if its false labor a hot shower might help so i did that around 7 and it seemed to help till about a half hr ago, but between 5 and 6 they were every 9-9 1/2 minutes apart

Does your dr have an after hours line?

yea and i gotta wait for the on call dr to get the message and call me back, last time i called for contractions they never called back, but they were not this bad or this close together last time...so im thinkin i might just go in, but its an hr drive to the hospital and i dont wanna drive all the way there for them to look at me for 5 minutes and send me back home cuz im just a paranoid first time mom   but i would rather be safe then sorry, and i really dont wanna have this little boy yet, he still has awhile left to cook in there

Yeah. U don't wanna have him now. theyll probably monitor you for an hour or so depending on whether or not you're showing contractions. Had untried drinking water and laying down?

yea i have tried water, laying down, sitting in a chair, walking around, a hot shower, some juice, nothing is working... do you know where port huron is? its about an hr or so north of there. my ob is in port huron.

So you're up by the bridge? Or in the thumb? I can't remember haha

yep in the thumb   im originally from ann arbor area, moved up this way about 7 years ago

For pre term labor its 8 contractions in 2 hours..low back pain that goes n comes r dull back pain that does not go away..so if u feel like that I would say go in my doctor told me 8 in two hours r 5min apart

yea i have had 8 in like one hr and theres only back pain during the contraction and its like a stabbing pain, after the contractions over, my back feels fine

I was in the hospital with contractions like that I told them I mostly feel it in my back they left me sitting there for three hours not once did they check on me cuz they said the monitor is not picking up anything I was in tears and nothing so I asked to go home I took all the meds I have to help stop thing after a day they stopped but started to get them again now at 5pm ...go in and good luck make sure they listen to u its ur body u know what u r feeling..keep us posted

i would wait to go to l/d until you cannot bare the pain.. when i was in labour my contractions weren't even 5 mins apart, and i always needed to walk when they started coming.. i could also hardly breathe. i would wait til the pain is at least a 7-8/10

She is only 32 weeks still to early for baby to come if she waits that long could be to late..she needs to get them stopped and a set of steroids for babies lungs..

Keep trying to time them and instead calling your doctor's after hours call l/d they answer right away. Good luck.
