Flu?

posted 8th Jan
I think I may have the flu. I've had a cough for about a week, but today I started vomiting, running a fever (Temp is back to normal now thanks to Tylenol), my entire body just aches, I can't stop shivering, dizziness, etc.
Here's the problem...
I'm still in my first week of the new semester. I have homework due in two out of three of my classes tomorrow, and a test in the third. I really cannot afford to miss tomorrow, especially considering I have to possibly miss my classes (Same ones) Monday due to C/S court.
If I go by and grab a medical mask from the health department (About two minutes out of the way to school, no biggie, gotta drop off papers anyway), take some meds, drink plenty of fluids, wash my hands frequently/use hand sanitizer, etc, would it be okay for me to go to classes tomorrow? It's only 9:30-1:50 total for all three classes...But I don't want to infect anyone, a lot of my classmates work at day cares/have children. The classes are small enough that I can sit away from everyone though.
Sorry if it seems like a stupid question, but I really can't miss class tomorrow...

I had to work all last week with a mask on because I had a nasty upper respiratory infection. I was crazy about hand washing, and didn't infect anyone that I of.....and I work in a rehab facility. You (and they) should be okay if you try to keep your distance from everyone.

Hell yes. Thank you.
Normally I'd stay my sick ass at home in bed, but I'd really be screwing myself if I missed tomorrow AND Monday. That would leave me with 3 sick days in two classes, and 2 in the other to last me until May.

yeah I completely understand. I always advocate staying home while sick, but if you absolutely have to go out in public, there are always ways to keep others protected from your nasty-ness lol

Lol, yep. I went ahead and warned ALL of the people I've been in contact with for the last week, just in case.
I'm just really praying poor LO doesn't get it, he's coughing and has a runny nose but I'm hoping it's a cold and not the flu, I've heard that a decent number of children have already died this season from the flu.
I've never been big on flu shots, never had one, but I think maybe it's time to start getting them.

My daughter is having surgery tomorrow so all last week I had to really distance myself from her to prevent her from getting sick. I didn't have the flu, but I sure felt like death. On saturday she didn't even know I was home because I stayed locked up in my room all day lol

Flu shots are great, but a lot of time they protect you from last years strain, so if you were to come in contact with this years you'd be smurf out of luck anyway. I always get them as a precaution anyway though.
