The "I do it" stage

My son will be 2 years old on the 17th and lately anything he does he has to do it himself
Get dressed,put shoes on,wash himself ect
But when he has trouble doing it he will throw a fit and cry
But if you try to help he gets more pissed off

Idk what to do he's driving me crazy.i know he's trying to be more independent but damn
He's also just learning to talk,he knows about 10 words so he can't really tell me what's bothering him

I hate this phase. If we are in a rush in the morning I have to wait for her to take her time walking to the car, take her time climbing in, etc. If I try to pick her up and put her in the car so we can leave right away she flips out and starts arching her back and just being a jerk. Other than that I don't mind it that much...but sometimes it's like really? She will throw a tantrum if you don't let her close the fridge when you're getting something out of it, or turn off the light when leaving a room. *sigh*

I'm totally with you! My daughter doesn't want help with ANYTHING. She has to do it all on her own. Sometimes I love it, but a lot of the time I'm running late and need to hurry her along lol.

Yeah I would love to meet any two year old who understands what "HURRY UP!" means. My kid will sit there and try to run into a neighbor's yard...or pick up a stick on the ground...yell at the dogs barking next door. Dilly dallies!

Heathen is 4, and STILL in that phase. Drives me nucking futs

My 25 month old is doing the same, exact thing.
I think it's amazing when she actually succeeds and she gets so excited for herself, but damn..she always seems to be wanting to do things on her own at the most inconvenient time. Seriously. And if I help.. it's game over. But sometimes I have to and she'll cry..cry..and throw a tantrum..and cry some more. She acts like I lost her favorite doll.
And she can talk in sentences and she'll tell me what's bothering her.. but smurf, it doesn't make it any easier. Seriously.

Ugh I thought there was hope lol
If he wouldn't cry and whine when he can't do it himself i wouldn't care lol
