20 mon. with bottle!!

my daughter is 20 months & she loves her bottle, she never took a binkie, she dont have a fav blanket. i have literally tried everything, cold turkey didn't work due to the fact she seen them(i'm due with baby #2 any time) no sippy is good enough tried every kind even REALLY expensive ones. She takes her cousins sippy, but not hers. she drinks out of regular cups too. which her doc said not to worry b/c she wants her on cups b/c sippys & bottles are the same to her. Sooo i'm lost =[

just give her a cup then?

So, she'll drink out of her cousin's sippys?

Why don't you make some kind of big deal that her cousin gave her all of her sippys so she could be a big girl just like her (or him)?

I'll try that when he comes over again! Thank you! & the funny part is they will have the SAME cup!?? but as soon as he leaves she won't touch it!

Hmm I wonder if you can do a bottle like a pacifier and just cut the tip? Make her not like it anymore? It might come out too fast though. Does she understand being a big girl and you making a big deal out of it? Thats the only thing I can think of.

Ugh I have this problem. My little boy just turned 2 and he thinks he cant live without his bottle. But Im not stressing it. Could be worse!

my mom was on the bottle until she was 6!  
My grandpa spoiled her and wouldnt let my grandma wean her off. She would come home from school and pour her own bottle lol.

Ahah! Ok I wont let it happen until hes SIX but I dont see the big deal right now. I've just been lazy weaning him off of it. He has a bunch of blankies he sleeps with, he would be fine. Its just the actual "doing it" im procrastinating with :S

Yeah, i try the big girl but idk if she cares & she gets embarrassed easy, which helps with PT(if she uses the bathroom in her diaper I'll makes jokes) so i tried doing that with the bottle but she just hides it so we can't find it until she is ready for bed..

I finally decided to just throw away the bottles ( I am also pregnant with baby number 2). My daughter was 21 or 22 months when I did. She went to the dentist for a routine cleaning and they found a cavity and that was the last straw for me. I said screw it, I'll put bottles on my baby registry or just buy new ones myself if no one else buys them for me.

well i would but that would waste money since he could poss. be here friday & thats not enough time for her to forget about them lol
