Crocheting....

I just started crocheting the other day, I went to Walmart, bought some crochet hooks and some yarn and just went to town. I haven't been able to actually make anything. I either make the stitch to tight or not tight enough and I get confused on the 2nd or 3rd turn I get confused and end up back on my first chain. I'm trying not to get frustrated with it so I've been putting it down and just coming back to it a little bit later. Does anyone have any tips on how to get a consistant stitch and what not. Any tips would help! Thanks mama's!!

You tube videos, I know someone who learned that way and has made a few hats already in the last week! I want to try, I just feel like I never have the time.

Youtube videos! I watched a ton and have been making a baby blanket...it took about 4 rows off a chain of like 140 but I have the single stitch down pat now.
