I had a problem with cramping real bad when I wss on bc. My ob said it was a hormone surge. Could be that or what your mother had. It wouldn't hurt to have it checked out if its unbearable.

Glad its not unbearable. But that honestly doesn't quite sound normal. I'd ask my dr ab it.
