Weird scar?

DS who is 3 has this scar, or what I think is a scar, on his scalp. I first noticed it when he was around 6 months old, but he's never had an injury to his head since he was born. Is it possible that something happened in utero? I know that sounds weird, but I really do not have an explanation for this scar.

Did he ever have a monitor attached to his head during labor? My brother has a scar from that.

Nope. I've never even noticed a scab or anything when he was born. It's just really strange.

It might not be a scar. It could just be a difference in tissue or pigmentation.
