Do you make your child eat veggies?

I usually give LO a V8 juice (low sodium) a few times a week for lunch and for dinner I usually always make a steamed vegetable. Usually either green beans, mixed veggies, or peas. I make him eat at least some of it. Well, when we were visiting my family back home I was trying to get LO to eat some peas (usually it's not a big deal but he started throwing a little fit for my mom) and my mom politely told me that she never made any of us eat veggies. I just feel so much better about his health knowing that he's getting at least a little bit. He also gets a flinstone gummy vitamin every day. So, do you offer your kids veggies everyday and do you make them eat them if they don't eat them without you prompting/making them?

I'm not talking about screaming and crying and forcing them in to his mouth. He feeds them to himself or I'll feed them to him with a fork sometimes. I just have to tell him that he needs to eat at least x amount then he can get down and play and he usually complies.

I offer them up, but my son rarely is willing to eat them. So, I steam them, and mix them into applesauce...he eats them that way. So...yes, I make him...but he doesn't know it yet.

I put them on DS's plate at lunch and dinner, he almost always eats them.
Most nights he has salad with his dinner (:

I guess I'm lucky. I don't have to make her. She loves her veggies. I try to include a fruit or a veggie with every meal.

I make her eat some, but she usually will anyway. Especially roasted broccoli. She likes any kind of broccoli, really.

i don't have to make my daughter eat her veggies. she loves veggies. she's eating a salad as we speak...errr type? lol

if she hated veggies, i would find another way for her to get her the nutrients, but still offer them to her.

depends I usually do your method cause when it comes to it most kids it doesent really matter what the food is its just whatever is in the way of fun stuff...
so if there is no kicking fighting screaming than yea your not hurting him
besides you can do like alot of us and slip them in sneaky like
I doubt you would say this to your mom or at least I am not brave enough to say it to mine lol but mabe he put up such a fuss eating them is because of how she cooked them...

He loves fruit and has them through out the day. He even really likes V8 juice and tomatos (but aren't they fruits?).

Yea. It was never an issue with my daughter. She'd eat them in a heartbeat...my son is a different story. So, I steam them on a regular basis and stick them in his sili squeeze. He loves it, and it gets a lot of them in his system. Not ideal, but we're working on it!

DS used to love his greens, but now it's a hit or miss.

I make smoothies in the morning which I include orange juice, baby spinach, yogurt, strawberries, and bananas. Or when I make turkey meat loaf I hide veggies in it. I want to get a puree..er? so I can just start mixing veggies into different things. But I still offer veggies for lunch and dinner.

She loves them. I'd make her TRY any food at least a couple different ways, but she eats everything anyway. Except stuffing. Lol, of all the things to hate.
