Swing Recommendations

posted 8th Jan
I have absolutely no clue what kind of swing I want to get for the baby. I was going to get one that matches her travel system and pack n play, but it has horrible reviews and I can't afford to waste money on something that may not work.

I'm thinking I'd like to get a full sized swing this time around, maybe something that runs on an outlet with batteries being optional.

We had the fisher price rainforest one. It plugged into the wall and it worked amazingly! Never an issue.
I would guess the same for any FP that plugs in.

one that you can switch from swinging back and forth, to side to side. my son likes the side to side motion, but my friends baby likes the back and forth. so having both would be handy.

we got DS a Bright Stars Safari plug in swing. It's around $100. Best purchase ever! Before he had one that was battery operated and we were literally buying batteries twice a week.

We have the Graco Sweat peace soothing center. We love it. More importantly DS loves it. It runs on outlet, vibrates, you can change the direction of the swing, its got all sorts of noises and an mp3/iPod adapter. Also, of you have an Graco carseat (like the infant ones that come with the travel system) it will attach to the stand so that if baby is sleeping in the carseat you can just snap them in and not disturb them.

It's freaking crazy how much they cost!
I had portable swings with my first two though, and I'd really like to have a full sized one this time for the side-to-side motion.

Wait...what?
So does it have a seat along with the car seat attachment!?

I remember spending too freaking much on batteries for my first two. Was it just a regular Bright Starts swing or was it one of those InGenuity ones?

It's got a base and the seat itself comes out and you can put the carseat there. Let me get on my computer and I'll post a link.

Oh, I can pay full price for it, I'm just shocked that a baby swing can cost as much as $180 or more! I would love to know how much it costs to manufacture those bitches!
