Met dh june 2009. Started dating jan 1 2010 got engaged april 2010. Moved in together june 2010. Got married aug 2011. I knew i wantes to marry him before we started dating. We talked every day for months and were already in love before we started dating. I jokingly (but half serious) told him i'd marry u in a heart beat. He then told me he loved me two days later. I never felt like i did before and thought i was no where near ready for marriage but it was just meant to be because marrying him was the best thing ever had no doubts

In 2011:

Started dating in February, along with some casual sex.
"In a relationship" on May 24th 2011.
He had met DD earlier in the week.
Moved in together in July (it was my place or back with his parents because he was having troubles with his apartment owner people.)
Bought a mobile home together in October, fixed it up, started talking about marriage not too seriously.
Moved in End of October.
Engaged December 20th (or maybe 21st lol).


Marriage is estimated to be May 24th 2014.

Lesson learned

Dated 4 years before marriage, we were young though and got married when I was 19. Been married almost 7 years now.

eta: I'd want to wait at least two years before getting married to someone. Personal preference.

I couldn't imagine waiting three years just for an engagement. But that is me. I guess I could if I wanted too. Just seems LONG.

Haha yep. It is sort of a long story though but it started out as a joke because we both needed money for school and that was really the only way or have a kid which neither of us wanted haha.

We moved fast  

We knew each other for 8 years before we began dating. We were really close friends too.
We began dating in January 4 years ago. He moved in by April. We had decided by June that we were going to get married. He bought my ring in either August or September, and we waited for him to ask me until December when he proposed to me privately am later on publically in front of my parents. We were then married about a year and a half after we began dating. This was perfect because we had a big wedding which required a lot of planning. We got pregnant four months before our wedding, in March and had a miscarriage in June. Then we had our wedding and began trying for a baby again and got pregnant two months later. We are just about to have five kids together come April.

Oh I am the same. I didn't ever want to do the date for fun scene. I mean, why waste time person to person? Never made sense.

We started dating when I was 17, moved in together when I was 18, go engaged @ 20 and bumped our wedding up cuz we got pregnant. He's my soulmate. Its been 4 years of marriage and I fall more and more in love with him everyday.

Every person and couple is different! You can't go by other or even other relationships.

My first husband and I knew each other since we were 14, dated 2 years, engaged for a year and then got married! We were married 4 years and divorced.

My DH and I were together one month when we talked about marriage and a baby. We got engaged after being together two months and found out we were pregnant the same week. It was all planned and its all been wonderful. I feel so different this time around.

Timing is a personal thing. No one can say for sure.

Met summer of '09, started whatever unofficial secret-ish relationship we had in March of '10, which didn't become official with both parties fully committing to being faithful until July of '11. Got pregnant on our one month, found out the following month, then went on with things the best we could, trying to grow together and not apart despite the difficulties we faced. He told me he wanted to make me his wife in February of '12, but nothing came of that until we spoke of it in August of that year and decided that's what we wanted to do. He proposed on the first of September, we moved in together in November, then we married this past 20 December.

A little shy of 3 years of being together before marrying. Honestly, I would have liked to have more time, especially without our son. We didn't have much time for just the two of us, but we didn't plan for Liam to come about. Mistakes and such.

Gotcha makes sense. At 17 I would wait too.

I just have never, ever felt this way about anyone. He is the best. He loves me for me, loves my daughters, treats them as his own. Busts his ass for our family, gave up a lot to be with me. And he enjoys every second. I couldn't ask for more. I've never had such a connection with another person like I do with him.

We met august of 2011 two weeks before SO got deployed. we wrote each other and texted while he was still in the states training. We officially started dating in November 2011, and got un-officially engaged (didn't tell family) the day he came back in august of 2012 and then made it official in November 2012.

ETA I moved in in september 2012. we plan to get married on Halloween this year. If not Halloween then in October.
