sick one month old?

I think my 1 month old has a cold. ('tis the season) every time he coughs, he cries like it hurt (sore throat maybe?) and he is very congested. i have been using saline nasal drops often and aspirating his nose whenever it sounds like he has a boogie.
however, my pedi said that my son has acid reflux which can make his nose congested. and maybe his throat could be sore from the acid?
so just wondering if you guys think it is just his acid reflux acting up? or maybe a cold? and advice on either would be great.
