Texas Medicaid users...

Has anyone had any issues with your pregnancy medicaid since the start of the new year?

The last time I called 211 it said that I was covered through September 2013, which was correct. I will have the baby in June/July and then they cover until a few weeks after your 6week pp checkup or whatever.

Today, Amerigroup called me which is the insurance I chose because that's what my doctors office takes and said that they were notified that I am no longer covered by Texas Medicaid..... So I called 211, and sure enough I'm not. I logged on to yourtexasbenefits.com and it showed that I was covered through December 31, 2012.

Just wondering if there is some kind of glitch- because I haven't changed anything since I applied and was approved.

:-/ Kind of inconvenient because I have a doctor appointment next week. Hopefully they can get this fixed before I have to re-schedule.

definitely call them. You might have missed your review date or something and they cancelled it. I don't think that would be a glitch to just cancel someones benefits, at least I hope not!

I am on hold with 211 right now.

I wouldn't have a renewal date after only having it for 2 1/2 -3 months... Also, when I had called 211 and heard my benefits it was mid December..

I had the pregnancy medicaid with my first daughter and didn't have this issue either.

I know of others who had their stuff cancelled when the new year started. They were told their review date was every 6 months, but that if a new year falls before the review date you will be reviewed then. Idk if that's common in all of Texas or just Travis county though. Seems strange to me. I hope you don't have to go through all of the qualification stuff again and they just reinstate everything!

The lady just came back. What happened was a glitch in the system.

When I had my miscarriage in August the system some how missed my new application (done online) on November 1. Luckily now they do see my application so they are trying to see if they can use that application since the system basically booted me out.

I won't ever do another online application again!

They've got me on hold with a level 2 supervisor. I just hope I'll be able to go to the doctor and not have to re-schedule.
