I can't get him to poop in the potty :-[

Christopher begins preschool in 3.5 weeks. They have to be potty trained to go to school. He's completely pee trained, but we're struggling on getting him to poop in the potty. He won't go in his undies...he asks for a diaper to go poop in. If we don't give him a diaper, he'll hold it. He refuses to poop even if we've waited until last minute and he can't hold it anymore...he'll just constipate himself. He's not even peeing in diapers during naps or night. It's this dang poop issue. Do we just let him hold it a few times until he gets the point or what do we do? I HAVE TO get him pooped trained in the next 3.5 weeks. He has done it before in potty so I know he's capable of doing so. We've tried candy, toys, stickers, etc. That doesn't work either. HELP, please!!

I have the opposite problem with my toddler:/ He poops in the toilet but won't tell me he has to pee and will pee every where.

Have you tried telling him that he wont have diapers at school and all his friends will be using the potty to poo?

Honestly my three year old refused to do either. My grandmother said she made her kids wash out the undies they messed it. Worked like a charm in a day for both of mine

This. But since he is using diapers to poop in I would have him help you put the poop into the toilet and flush it down.

I don't know if he'd understand me since he's never been to school before, but I could try saying that to him and see what he says. MAYBE he'd get it. We're doing a tour of his school Thursday...then maybe he'll link two and two together.

I think that's wise, but he's too little to know how to clean his own undies. And he refuses to poop in them :-/

He'd rather hold it until his insides hurt.
