Wrist tendonitis/carpal tunnel surgery.

So I had an appointment with my Orthopedic Dr. at 8 this morning & he took x-rays & an MRI of both of my wrists. My carpal tunnel & tendonitis have gotten extremely bad, so I have to have surgery.  

I scheduled it for Thursday, February 21st so that way it gives DH time to request off for work so he can help me with DS. I'm just so nervous.

Has anyone had surgery on their wrist for tendonitis or carpal tunnel? How was your recovery?

I have/had tendonitis but don't need surgery though the future may be different. I hope it goes smoothly for you!

I had both wrists done, obviously not at the same time, and recovery was fine. DD as a newb, too. I needed a lot of help from DH though.

My husband had it, bout year and half ago, it was way simpler than, I thought it would be, he actually drove home after sleeping few hours in recovery,
I just had to wrap his wrist every night to change bandages, the incision was maybe half an inch, if that, after the pain from surgery he said his hand felt million times better,
He was at point where he,couldnt even hold the babies,

That's where I basically am. It hurts horribly to pick up DS & hold him. But I have to do it when it's just us & DH isn't here. As scared as I am about the surgery, I can't wait to have it so I can be back to normal!

Yea, I'm getting my right wrist done first because it's the worst. DS will be 15 months old when I have my surgery.

He would pick them up and then like fall real slow to floor and lay them down it was so frustrating like I couldnt do anything, I believe he was awake during it, but he passed out after, I kinda wished they would have done the surgery sooner, he was getting the steroid shots for a while,

damn, half an inch? OP i was going to ask if you're sure you want and orthopedic doing it instead of a hand specialist (plastic surgeon) because i had an ortho remove a ganglion on top of my wrist and the scar is absolutely horrible. and he is the hot shot ortho in this town so i dont know if he just didnt care or they just can't make it look pretty like a hand specialist.

oh haha. well that's good. i hate that mine butchered my wrist   it's so ugly.
