Anyone in this situation or know someone who is?

No but I was. My husband missed the birth of our second child because he was in a different city when my water broke. My labor was very quick. 1 hour and 45 minutes, start to finish.

Will he be able to come home if need be?

I was with my last, but the doctor stripped my membranes at 37 weeks and I went in to labor that night. He got to spend three weeks with the baby before he left.

My husband missed the birth of all of our children. Military deployments with the first two. Our babysitter bailed with our last. So I delivered all of our children without a coach.
It's not the worst thing in the world that could happen.

My Dad missed all five of us, his kids, being born, We are still very close to him. Our Mom just took care of us until he came back home.

I'm in that situation. My SO works out of state 4 days a week. You can PM me if you want.

I'm due tomorrow and my SO won't be here for the birth. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk.

Thanks for these insights, it seems like there are a lot of different variables and experiences out there.

DH was deployed when I had DS (and wasn't home until DS was 4.5 months old). He almost missed DD's birth b/c of work.
Hoping #3 cooperates and we don't have the risk of DH missing anything
