I hate owning and having to rent it out. It stresses me out, I always worry our tenants will move. The market is just too slow to sell right now where it is at. We are hoping to buy again this summer, my MIL wants to pass us down their house...and I am so anxious to see if it works out. I miss living in my own home. I don't do well in apartments.

i think the no spanking = no discipline idea is a very common misconception.
We don't spank, it just isn't for our family! However my kids are sweet and polite, my son knows what will get him in trouble and we always follow through. He is disciplined in different ways.
I wouldn't say todays problem resides in the lack of spanking, that sounds incredibly biased

My daughter is only 5 months old right now so Its moslty taking her out of the situation and pulling her hand away saying no. I do believe in spanking but not abuse. I was spanked and sometimes to far but I don't think a swat on the butt will kill the kid. I don't plan to hit hard or enough to do any harm. I don't think lack of spanking is the sole problem I think parents who all think there kids are behaved when they aren't is the problem. A good majority parent I see says how great there kids are when in fact they are to busy with their cell phones, friends and other crap to notice their kid destroying something or being a rude little idgit to others. Or better yet letting there kid run free unsupervised...but hey they are well behaved. There are no consequences just talking to. I got spanked(sometimes beat I would never go there) and I got the hallway(nothing but homework and silence) it is a to each their own situation.

If my daughter doesnt listen when we tell her no we will spank her if she does something bad enough. Time outs do not work with her. She wont sit still to save the world. As long as it doesnt cross over into abuse, I dont see anything wrong with a firm pop on the butt especially if it works. If you dont discipline your kids some how they will walk all over you (Ive seen it happen). Timeouts and taking toys away works for some, while spanking works for others. It depends on the child and the parent(s).
