It depends on how much HCG was able to get built up before the chemical. The more HCG you have, the longer it will take to get back to zero, at which time your body will know you're not pregnant anymore and it's time to start gearing up for ovulation. Of course with a chemical your HCG will never get very high, but the amount that each woman has can still vary quite a bit. In general you can expect your next period to be about a week late, give or take.

That makes sense. When I was in the ER it was only 0.5 so that's very low. I just don't know when I should start testing this month.

Anything less than 5 is considered not pregnant. I would say your cycle had already started by then. What day was it?

Also, very sorry about the loss. It sucks, I know.

That's what the docs were saying too, but I was showing up positive on the pee test they gave me and 0.5 on the blood. I didn't go in until I was gushing blood though and that was December 14th I believe. I started spotting the day before.

Are you trying to TTC again or just want to know when to expect your next period? If TTC, you may be too late but it wouldn't hurt to have sex right away just in case. If it's just your period date that you want to know then I'd say roughly four weeks after December 14th.

Also, HCG gets secreted into the blood before urine and in turn drops first from blood before urine. So it's totally normal to have a negative beta but still have a positive HPT when miscarrying.

We're not actively trying, but we're not preventing either. So whatever happens, happens. I did an ovulation chart online (not sure how accurate they are) and we had intercourse on the 3 days it said I was O'ing. I also had pretty stretchy discharge about a day before we started BD'ing. So I just want to know when I should expect AF so I can start testing.

I just counted on the calender and 4 weeks from last AF is this Friday on the 11th.

That's sooner than I thought!

ETA: But then on the ovulation calculator it says AF should be due the 15th. I'm confused.

Personally (because I'm a poasaholic  ) I would start testing the week of the 21st. If we're correct about your cycle starting on the day you went to the ER you might get a BFP then because it would put you at about 10dpo. Closer to the 25th would be a safer bet though. Depends on how many HPTs you're willing to go through.

I never use ovulation calculators because it's really just a guess. Have you ever considered temping/charting? It makes my ovulation date crystal clear.

Why the 21st? That's almost 2 weeks after expected AF. I'm going to start testing possibly this weekend or the beginning of next week. I already have insanely sore boobs and bloat.

Heh, I never even asked how many days your cycles are. I just pretended it was 28 days.

I know it's just a guess, but we're just going with the flow. I don't really want to get into charting and what not and making smurf stressful.

Can I blame that on not having had coffee yet? I don't know why else I would start counting dpo after your period is due. /facepalm So sorry for the confusion!

Test NOW imo!
