Going back to work

posted 8th Jan
Hi everyone   havent posted anything in a while but my question is...... I will be going back to work in Feb and I have spoiled my baby seriously although thee internet says you can't spoil a new baby (ha I sound like that commercial) but I need to get her out of this any suggestions? I dont want to leave her with a sitter and all she does is cry if you dont hold her. No one is going to do that all day and I dont want to loose my sitter because she is crying none stop (Help Please new mommy alert) btw she is going to be almost 3 months when I leave her like 9 days from being 3 months she is 7 weeks now.

I wouldn't say Nicholas is spoiled but when he wants attention or needs/wants to be held, he means business! lol

Anyway with that said, I haven't had trouble leaving him with my mother-in-law at all. I was actually unemployed my entire third trimester and I began looking for another job when my son was around 9 weeks old. I just got hired part-time at a bank last week.

Now granted, my husband and I have been staying with my in-laws for about 6 months so my son has been around his grandma everyday of his life. However, my husband and I are still his majority care providers.

Keeping that in mind, I too was worried about leaving him even though he is familiar with her. What I decided to do was let her keep him for me while I ran errands and went job hunting. That way I'd know if he was comfortable enough with mommy being away for a few hours at a time.

I was reluctant to even ask her about keeping him (even though she already keeps our three year old niece while my sister-in-law works) but I needed a job at least something part-time so we can get into our own place soon. Mainly because I just felt like I need to be home caring for him. My husband works with his Dad in our family owned business and things are finally starting to pick up after being in business for about 7 months.

Anyways sorry all of that is so long but I'd suggest letting a close relative if you have one who is willing and available to keep her for you. As the previous poster stated, things tend to work out. If you have to leave her with a friend or non-relative, try to take it slow and relax. Really research the care provider you choose. As long as the person you're leaving her with has a loyal clientele and a good reputation, you will be able to take comfort knowing she's in trustworthy hands.

Sorry this is so long and good luck.
