Teething baby = cranky baby

posted 8th Jan
My poor son is teething really bad. Slobber everywhere! Little man goes through bibs and shirts like crazy. lol He chooses to teethe on his fist more than he does on a teether. I don't blame him, his fist is probably more soothing. I rub his little gums, but no teeth poking out, yet. Sometimes the pain is too much for him, because all he does is cry. Poor baby. Any other mommies dealing with teething at the moment?

Have you tried cool wash cloths or teething tablets? Those helped DS a lot. And letting him chew on a speared pickle in a baggy. He loved that lol

Literally every single day since he was 2 months, and that was 6 months ago. Two teeth have popped through, but that's all the progress he's made. Not one day free from the pain of it, poor guy.

Munchkin mesh teethers work well. Just pop in some frozen fruit or ice

Hylands teething tablets will save your bacon!!! You can piggy back that with some gripe water as well.

In the mean time, I would let my kids chew on whatever they felt like tbh. I had those awful mesh feeders (you know those things you put bananas in for when they are learning to eat solids and they make a damn mess) and I would put an ice cube in them. The kids would suck on those. The ice cube could never get past the mesh so I never worried abut choking.

My boy has been teething for about 2 months now.. No tooth yet. They're RIGHT THERE. I can see them but they haven't popped through. Teething tablets are amazing. He calms down after getting them

So many great ideas, thanks ladies..  However, my son thinks he's too cool to hold things for himself. Can you say, "Momma's Boy!" lol My son's teeth are trying to poke out. I feel as if we're more behind other mommies, because he is almost 6 months, with not one tooth. :/ I do see the teeth poking out, but none really have made an appearance. Is it normal for babies to not get their teeth right away? First time parenting and all I can really do is google. lol So the experience and stories from you ladies have helped!   Thanks!!

My daughters really didn't get teeth until about 9 months or so. TBH, with the twins I didn't realize that they were getting teeth. They weren't really fussy or anything. With my son, I noticed because I looked for them. Otherwise, same thing. Now, when the incisors came in, that was a different ballgame. For some reason those were tough. Those came with rashes, cranky kids, and big time swollen gums.

I really suggest the hylands teething tablets. They are all natural and every child I know has responded very well to them. Ora gel just tightens the gums so that makes it harder for the teeth to come thru, sort of defeating the purpose.

I'm just thankful that I am not the only mother who's babies teeth have not poked through yet. I feel that my son is a late bloomer, because he sits up but is still pretty wobbly. Also, the teeth not poking through yet. But of course, patience is a virtue and I'll definitely enjoy every minute of my son's growing.
