Your cervix gets irritated and can bleed easily after sex especially if it was rough.

What do you mean "every time you go to the ER they check the baby"? How many times have you been & why?

I think you should go to the Er because like you say even though there is no cramping but it was a lot of blood it's better to be safe than sorry

If it keeps happening after having sex I would quit having sex. Sex can cause irritation to your cervix and cause bleeding.

Intercourse can irritate your cervix, its very normal. I've had so much bleeding this pregnancy, totally normal. If it's dark red and continues, then I would worry.

It never hurts to be safe. If they refuse to see you just bc you keep coming in, you can sue, whether there's something wrong with the baby or not. They can, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES, turn you away because "you come in too many times" That doesn't sound normal to me. How much blood was it? If it was A LOT alot, I'd go in just to be safe. They say anything, hey, it's better to be safe than something be really wrong and you end up having horrible complications from it.

Well honestly there is nothing they can do for you other than tell you what's going on. Might as well just save the time and money. If you start cramping or passing clots then call your OB.

sometimes your cervix could be very vascular which would make you more prone to bleeding and your uterus has a large supply of blood going to it to keep the baby alive and growing and if its light its ok he could have busted one of those veins and if its pink it leads me to believe its surface bleeding. This may be tmi but did he get off in you? because if he did that could explain why it would look like there was a lot due to your blood mixing with his seminal fluid or if he didn't you do have more discharge during pregnancy as well your body really amps up cleaning itself out so no worries hun. if you see bright red blood with clots and cramps go to the doc, but for now I think your just fine good luck sweetie.

Spotting is normal early on. As long as you're not cramp, and the blood isn't bright red, I personally wouldn't worry unless of course it continues. Wear a panty liner and if it gets full, go in.

Do you realize there is nothing they can do about spotting? I don't know what people keeping saying "better to be safe"...a sin safe from what? Unless you are hemmorhaging, even if you were to miscarry, there is nothing that can be done for you about that at 6 weeks. Seriously. And even though the ER might not be able to turn you away, you CAN loose your medicaid if they deem you to be abusing it. I knwo someone whose CHILD lost medicaid because she was constantly taking her ot ER for cold s& such. She did get it reinstated, but they don't want ot pay for the ER if the ER is not needed.

I am NOT trying to be an smurf. I've had miscarriages, a lot of them in fact. And I can promise you, going to the ER for spotting is pointless. Completely. You only need the ER if you are having cramping, bleeding more than a pad an hour or have a fever along with bleeding & cramping. Otherwise, there isn't much they will do for you except make you wait a bunch of hours & tell you to follow up with your Dr.

Actually it's pointless even if you are misscarrying they will send you home yo pass it and ask you to come back for a d&c if nesaicary.

I agree but she's 17 - so they may walk her through it a tad more, I HOPE.

I went to the ER during my 1st miscarriage. After that I never went back again. It was totally pointless & made the experience 10x worse than it needed to be.

This is true too. Clots or stay home pretty much. I went in with my first pregnancy because of clots, and it was a good thing. I went in with spotting with 2 and 3 and it was useless. This time unless I'm bleeding to death pretty much I am staying home lol
